AdBlue

IDS currently operates 327 sites throughout our whole Europe network

Due to the increasing importance of AdBlue, IDS has developed an extensive AdBlue network in order to ensure our customers enjoy optimal availability. IDS currently operates 327 sites throughout our whole Europe network, and that number is continuously increasing. In line with all IDS quality fuels, AdBlue quality is regulated by the DIN V 70070 standard.

What is AdBlue?

AdBlue is a liquid solution primarily composed of urea and demineralized water. It's used in diesel engines equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to reduce harmful emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) into the atmosphere.

Truck drivers can use AdBlue by adding it to a separate tank in their vehicles. The AdBlue tank is typically located near the diesel fuel tank. When the truck is running, a small amount of AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system, where it reacts with the NOx emissions and converts them into harmless nitrogen and water vapour.

Using AdBlue is beneficial for truck drivers because it helps you comply with emission regulations, which are becoming increasingly stringent in many countries and regions. By reducing NOx emissions, AdBlue helps to minimize the environmental impact of diesel vehicles and ensures that trucks meet emission standards set by regulatory authorities. Additionally, some truck manufacturers have integrated systems that monitor AdBlue levels and alert drivers when it's time to refill, making it convenient for drivers to maintain compliance with emission regulations.
